Enhancing our Outdoor Learning Spaces at LPES

In the north end of our field, we would like to develop three areas.

  1. Shade Trees: Plant an open stand of trees that would create shaded areas for students to read quietly, do mindfulness activities, or run and play at recess. These trees would have some mounds on one side that are covered with grass and provide some undulating ground for a variety of activities.
  2. Shade Structure: The construction of a shade structure near our sandbox area could be used for outdoor learning, dramatic play or class activities. An example is: https://www.blueimp.com/nav_product/navajo-park-shelter/?current=1211
  3. Sound Play Area: A sound play area could include music installations such as: https://www.blueimp.com/product-category/music-outdoors/
