December 10, 2022 Update

Dear Lindsay Park families,

This update includes information for the last week of school before Winter Break, so please read it carefully.

Thank You to our PAC Volunteers

We are fortunate to have many parents who volunteer to support school activities. Friday's Recycled Shopping event and our Poinsettia fundraiser are excellent examples of the many activities that our PAC organizes within our school community. Other PAC activities include our hot lunch and popcorn fundraisers. Please remember that all of these activities are organized by parent volunteers and funds raised go directly to pay for school-wide activities like swimming lessons. Thanks to all of our parents who help out at LPES!

Theatre Access for Winter Variety Shows

For our first show on Monday morning at 10:30am, please access the theatre only through the front doors at Mckim. Please remember that regular classes are in session at McKim and we hope to minimize any disruption to their regular schedule. Tuesday evening's show at 6:00pm is also best accessed through the front door. If possible, please bring your child at 5:30pm on Tuesday to help ensure we can start in a timely manner.

Report Cards on Monday

On Monday your child will be coming home with their term 1 report card. Staff have been working diligently in the preparation of these report cards. The comments are written in a student-centered way, and it is our hope that you read through these with your child as a celebration of their learning. Please connect with your child’s teacher to dig deeper into the learning that is happening in the classroom. These reports are only one form of classroom communication and close collaboration between families and teachers benefits everyone.

Hot Lunch and Popcorn

We have a hot lunch on Thursday and popcorn on Friday morning. Please send your child with a toonie for Friday's popcorn fundraiser.

Friday Movie Options

We value options at LPES and recognize that some students may prefer alternate activities to the Friday morning movie. There will be a classroom with activities available for any students who choose this option.
