October 14, 2022 Update

This update includes information about interim reports, expected behaviors at recess, drop offs, and hot lunches at LPES.

Interim Reports

Following parent teacher interviews, interim reports were sent home with students today. If you haven't had a chance to meet with your child's teacher, please arrange for a meeting next week by contacting your child's teacher or the office.

Expected Behaviors at Recess

Recess is a time for active play and fun with friends. The unstructured nature of this time also creates challenges and learning opportunities for students. At Lindsay Park, our staff have been working to clarify expected behaviors at recess and communicate these with students. Staff are also developing and delivering integrated school-wide lessons to help students learn social/emotional strategies, and positive decision making skills. Please review the expected behaviors with your child by clicking on the link here: Expected Behaviors at Recess

Picking Up Bus Students

We need your help! We have 122 of our 180 students who ride the bus. A significant portion of these bus students have daily changes that are difficult for staff to keep updated. Organizing all of these changes takes significant time and effort in the office. The result of numerous last minute changes is delayed bus departures in the afternoon. If you are picking up your child who normally rides the bus, kindly follow these guidelines:

  • Notify Audrey in the office by email: audrey.hunt@sd6.bc.ca before lunch.
  • In the same email you can also notify your child's teacher of the change. This way teachers can direct students where to go at the end of the day.

Parking Near LPES

The City Bylaw Officer has reminded us about parking regulations around LPES. Kindly follow these guidelines:

  • Parking on Salmo Street in front of the school is parallel parking only. You may be ticketed if you obstruct the road allowance. Please review the map of drop off and pick up locations at LPES here.

Hot Lunch

PAC will accept any last hot lunch orders Monday morning for our Oct, Nov and Dec hot lunches.
